Both graphite and aluminum X12 chassis include updated design of the grooves for the battery backstop which allows battery position adjustment in the most frequently-used cross-chassis position. Whether you are racing at US very-high traction tracks or European medium-traction tracks, whether the track is carpet or asphalt… there is an X12 Edition that is specifically designed and suitable for your particular traction conditions.
The US Edition features a chassis and pod plate CNC-machined from 2.0mm Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum which is best suited for high- and very-high traction tracks; it makes the car easier to drive, keeps more cornering speed, and prevents the car from traction rolling.
The EU Edition features a chassis and pod plate CNC-machined from custom-manufactured 2.5mm high-grade graphite material with a specially-designed compound for low, medium, and high-traction tracks. The graphite material is softer than an aluminum chassis to generate more traction.
Rear Wheelbase Adjustment.Both EU and US version of the X12 feature all-new rear wheelbase adjustment. There are three different rear wheelbase positions available to choose from. There is the standard middle position, and also there are optional eccentric upper clamps to allow movement of the rear axle either 1mm forward or rearward depending on the clamp orientation. A shorter car rotates faster in slow corners and has improved forward traction. A longer car is more free in high-speed corners and will feel more linear, especially during fast direction changes.
The all-new upper clamps were redesigned to work with the new composite bushings to extend the life of the bearings as well as the durability of the clamps. CNC-machined from premium extra-hard Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum and additionally black-coated for long life and stylish look.
The all-new bulkheads were redesigned to work with the new upper clamps with bushings as well with optional eccentric clamps. The upper clamps were redesigned to work with the new composite bushings which extend the life of the bearings as well as the durability of the clamps. CNC-machined from premium extra-hard Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum and additionally black-coated for long life and stylish look. The right bulkhead has a motor mount design with multiple motor mounting positions. The upper motor mount position prevents the motor from moving in serious crashes, and it adds another option to easily mount different types of motors.
The all-new rear link brace was completely redesigned to allow for a wider range of battery placement adjustment as well as featuring a new O-ring battery mounting system. The brace features groves for the O-ring to prevent the battery from moving. This battery mounting system is more user friendly and battery tape is not needed anymore; it is very easy to remove or insert the battery. The rear link brace features a narrow design that helps to move weight more into the chassis centerline, and give lower weight. The graphite rear link brace holds the side tubes as well as the side springs and body posts, and works as a backstop for the battery pack.
The all-new rear link brace & battery backstop allows for a wider range of battery placement adjustment. The brace includes two holes into which the adjustable battery backstop is inserted. The battery backstop has 4 positions which allow the batteries to be moved more forward. The distance between each position is 2mm, so in total the battery can be moved up to 6mm more forward. Frontward-placed battery makes the car easier to drive, reduces wheel lift in corners, and makes the car more predictable over bumps. Rearward-placed battery makes the car more aggressive, increases cornering speed, but makes the car more difficult to drive.
All-new redesigned bumper holder improves aerodynamics (mainly of lightweight body shells) as it prevents the front lip of the body from folding down at high speeds.It gives the body better protection in hard crashes. All-new graphite bumper holder is designed to fit into the new shorter chassis to keep the front body posts in the same position as previous versions, but atop the chassis so it does not touch the racing surface. Machined from premium 2.5mm graphite, the brace is flexible yet rigid enough to withstand serious crashes.
The all-new optional XRAY self-designed, revolutionary, super-smooth gear diff is a direct replacement for the ball-differential. Using the optional gear differential makes the car more stable and easier to drive, especially in high-traction conditions. The gear diff increases on-power steering which is needed on almost all types of tracks. A “must have” for every racer. The complete gear differential set includes a composite case and cover, precision-molded internal satellite gears made from special XRAY-developed composite material, all ensuring long lifespan and super-smooth efficient operation. A super-strong hollow steel shaft ensures maximum reliability and strength. The advantage of the gear diff is that it is maintenance-free. When the diff is correctly built, there is no need for maintenance for a very long time, no need for frequent oil changes, and no leakage due to a superior sealing system.
