Trying to improve the extremely successful X4 platform was a real challenge. The World- and European Championship winning chassis has been very popular and well-received by racers all around the world. I’m proud to have been part of this project since the start. For 2024, we felt like it was time to push the limits further, with something both innovative and exceptional in terms of performance. I can’t wait to share the final product with the RC world! When I received the first prototype in December of 2022, I was immediately impressed by what our designer, Martin Hudy, had achieved. After some fine tuning and work on the details for the coming months, we eventually were able to present the 2024 kit in its production form. These are the features that stands out the most for me in the 2024 version of the X4:

  • The shocks being mounted in the middle of the arm, instead of at the front or the back, drastically lowers CG, and makes the weight more centralised. This is the key change in the 2024 car which pushed the performance to the next level. The shock mounted in this spot also achieves optimized flex under dampening, which makes the suspension work more efficiently, which translates into more traction on the track.
  • The possibility to adjust the shock angle with shims allows for fine tuning of the shock angles in a way which previously was not possible. This gives you the opportunity to find the perfect setup for every possible condition, and most importantly, a way to find a perfect balance between front and rear grip.
  • The re-designed ECS BB driveshafts now feature an aluminium cover which captures the pins, which gets rid of the set screws in the couplings, which not only improves performance thanks to a smoother rotation, but also improves durability.
  • The new shock holders have the possibility to be adjusted with 3 different flex options, all with their own characteristics and benefits. These flex options make the setup window wider, and allows you to fine tune the handling of the car for every possible condition. This change is going to become a key part of the set-up for the X4’24 car, because of how powerful it is.
  • With the new shock holders, there’s a built-in option to make the rear shock tower active. This option has proven to be extremely useful especially on high grip tracks, to improve rotation and off power steering. The shock tower can quickly be swapped between active- and fixed by the fixation of a screw.

Stay tuned, a video is coming up!
